UGV Defence develops and integrates heavy unmanned ground vehicle systems designed to deliver operational capabilities in demanding environments. Built around proven tracked vehicle platforms, the company combines robust mobility, autonomous functionality and mission-specific equipment to support future military operations.
At the core of its portfolio is the UGV FLEX L12, a heavy unmanned ground platform with a payload capacity of up to 12 tonnes. First deliveries are planned for the first half of 2027. The longer-term roadmap includes expanding the platform range to cover vehicles in the 6–16 tonne class.
The platforms are designed to support a range of mission-critical applications, including heavy logistics in difficult terrain, mobile power generation for field operations, and carrier configurations for weapon systems and air defence artillery. An advanced bogie suspension system and tracked all-terrain mobility provide a foundation for demanding applications, including the integration of heavy mission equipment.

Strategic collaboration through NORDSEC
UGV Defence sees NORDSEC Defence and Security Cluster as an important arena for strategic collaboration between defence industry, technology providers and end users, at a time of accelerating technological development and growing demand for new defence capabilities.
“Defence organisations need operational capabilities, not just vehicles. NORDSEC provides an important platform for connecting technology providers, system integrators and end users to help turn innovation into deployable solutions,” says CEO Carl Ivarsson.
Through its engagement with the defence ecosystem, UGV Defence is in dialogue with defence authorities regarding testing and operational evaluation of its unmanned systems. These interactions help inform system development and support alignment with emerging requirements for autonomous logistics and combat-support capabilities.

From technology to operational capability
UGV Defence aims to contribute actively to NORDSEC activities and events, using the cluster to strengthen industry relationships, develop partnerships and accelerate commercialisation.
“For us, participation is about more than visibility. It is about shortening the path from technology development to operational use. Close collaboration with end users and industry partners is essential to developing systems that address real operational needs,” says Ivarsson.

Integrating Norwegian innovation
UGV Defence has a clear ambition to integrate additional Norwegian technologies into its platforms. By acting as a systems integrator, the company aims to bring together complementary technologies and mission equipment in deployable systems that can be adapted to different operational requirements.
This approach also creates opportunities to bring Norwegian defence innovation to international markets, while supporting industrial cooperation, supply security and stronger defence capabilities for Norway and allied nations.
“Our ambition is to bring together the best of Norwegian technology into deployable systems that meet future defence needs. We see UGV Defence as an integrator that helps transform innovation into operational capability,” says Ivarsson.
Looking ahead
UGV Defence is advancing its commercialisation and partnership activities, with a focus on platform development, mission-system integration and engagement with defence authorities and industry partners across the Nordic region and beyond.
Through its modular platform approach and collaborative ecosystem, the company aims to contribute to the next generation of autonomous ground capabilities.
