Space has become a critical operational domain for defence and security. At Forsvarskonferansen Nordic Defence and Security Conference 2026, Sopra Steria will bring together leading experts from industry and defence to discuss how space technologies are strengthening operational capabilities in an increasingly complex security environment.
The exclusive side event, Space as a Defence Enabler, will take place on Tuesday, 22 September, from 16:45 to 18:00 at Scandic Hell, Stjørdal, and is open to conference delegates. The session will explore how space-based data can enhance situational awareness, surveillance, intelligence gathering and resilience through AI, secure digital infrastructure and interoperability. It will also address the strategic importance of the Arctic and European technological sovereignty.
The programme features keynote insights followed by a panel discussion on the future role of space in defence and security.
Among the speakers are:
- Nicolas Frouvelle, Director of Marketing and Communication for Space Activities at Sopra Steria – CS Group in France. Frouvelle previously led the company's Flight Dynamics & Space Surveillance department and is one of the founders of the Smartspace initiative, promoting closer collaboration between established and emerging space actors to develop resilient solutions for both civilian and military applications.
- Stig Alstedt, who co-leads Sopra Steria's Secure Cloud programme. With decades of experience in the Norwegian IT sector, he is responsible for developing sovereign classified cloud solutions for defence and government organisations across Europe, with a strong focus on resilience, security and digital sovereignty.
- Odd-Harald Hagen, Vice President for Defence and Security at Space Norway and Major General (Ret.). Hagen is responsible for the company's defence and security market activities, leading strategic business development for satellite-based capabilities and services supporting national and allied defence organisations.
As one of Europe's leading technology consultancies, Sopra Steria works extensively with defence digitalisation, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure and advanced information systems. The company supports defence organisations and public authorities in developing secure, data-driven capabilities that strengthen resilience and operational effectiveness.
