SANDS Advokatfirma AS has joined the NORDSEC Nordic Defence and Security Cluster, bringing extensive legal expertise within defence and security, public procurement, contract law, technology, intellectual property, and dispute resolution into the cluster ecosystem.

SANDS is one of Norway’s largest full-service commercial law firms, with a dedicated practice area focused on defence and security. The firm advises both national and international clients across complex regulatory and contractual frameworks relevant to the sector.

According to Stein Hegdal, lawyer at SANDS, the motivation for joining is to engage more closely with industry actors across the defence and security value chain.

“We want contact with suppliers and sub-suppliers, and to learn from their experience within operational and practical industry settings,” says Stein Hegdal.

He also emphasizes the firm’s intention to actively contribute to the cluster’s activities.

 “We look forward to contributing through webinars, newsletters, and participation in meetings and conferences. We see this as an important arena for knowledge sharing and collaboration,” Hegdal says.

Through its membership in NORDSEC, SANDS aims to further strengthen its position within defence and security law while contributing legal and regulatory insight to a rapidly evolving industrial landscape.
