London-based Plasma Orbital has become a member of NORDSEC – Nordic Defence and Security Cluster. The company develops AI-powered microsatellite fleets designed to provide persistent maritime intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities for allied defence forces and maritime authorities.
Plasma Orbital is building sovereign space-based surveillance solutions that help strengthen maritime domain awareness, monitor critical infrastructure and improve situational awareness across large maritime areas.
According to CEO Leo Pauly, membership in NORDSEC is an important step in building relationships with the Nordic defence sector.
“The Nordic region is home to world-leading maritime and defence companies. We are excited to become part of the NORDSEC network, explore partnership opportunities and contribute with our expertise in space-based maritime surveillance,” says Pauly.

The company is also interested in connecting with Nordic defence companies looking to access the UK market.
“Partnerships are essential for developing and deploying new defence technologies. We see strong opportunities for collaboration between Nordic and UK defence companies.”
NORDSEC cluster manager Tevje Eggan welcomes Plasma Orbital to the network.
“Space-based surveillance is becoming increasingly important for defence and security. Plasma Orbital brings valuable expertise in maritime ISR and strengthens the international dimension of our cluster,” Eggan says.
Plasma Orbital joins a growing network of Nordic and international companies collaborating through NORDSEC to strengthen defence capabilities and build new partnerships across the sector.
