Oskar Pedersen AS, a member of NORDSEC Nordic Defence and Security Cluster, has joined forces with Aclima AS and the humanitarian organization Fritt Ukraina to deliver essential wool garments to Ukrainian soldiers, underlining how Nordic industry continues to translate capability into tangible frontline support.

The donation includes 3,000 wool garments, sufficient to equip 1,000 soldiers with base layers designed for demanding operational environments.

Delivering operational impact beyond contracts

For Oskar Pedersen AS, one of the Nordic region’s leading suppliers of operational defence solutions, the initiative reflects a broader responsibility that extends beyond commercial engagements.

“Ukraine’s defence against the Russian full-scale invasion is the most important issue for Europe’s future and our shared security,” says CEO Truls Oskar Pedersen.
“We are proud to jointly deliver essential equipment to soldiers who need it at the front.”

The company maintains long-standing partnerships with armed forces across Norway and the Nordic countries, often working closely with Aclima on military-grade clothing systems. This delivery builds directly on that industrial cooperation, but redirected toward urgent operational needs in Ukraine.

From Nordic supply chains to the front line

The garments, including tops, bottoms, and beanies, are based on wool terry construction, combining insulation, durability, and moisture management. This is the same material standard used by the Norwegian Armed Forces for decades.

The delivery was coordinated by Fritt Ukraina, with personnel from Oskar Pedersen actively participating in the transport from Norway to Lviv in western Ukraine. The shipment also included six donated vehicles, three pickups and three vans designated for air defence units.

Pedersen himself joined the convoy, gaining firsthand insight into conditions on the ground.

“It made a deep impression to see how people in Lviv have adapted to everyday life despite the war,” he says.
“At the same time, the reality is never far away, the need for protection and preparedness is constant.”

Industry engagement aligned with security realities

Oskar Pedersen has contributed to Ukraine support efforts over time, both through equipment donations and broader engagement initiatives. The company also supports activities such as Row for Ukraine, where Norwegian military cadets raise funds and awareness.

Within NORDSEC, this type of contribution illustrates how member companies are leveraging domain expertise, logistics capability, and established defence relationships to respond to evolving security challenges in Europe.

“We do not want to be passive spectators,” Pedersen adds.
“This is about contributing where we have real capability.”

Enabling contributions at scale

The operation was carried out as part of Fritt Ukraina’s transport number 124, in collaboration with Ukrainian partners including People’s Self Defence Lviv and local logistics networks.

Both Oskar Pedersen and Aclima highlight the role of experienced intermediaries in making such contributions effective.

“The organization and execution of the transport across Europe was highly professional,” says Pedersen.
“We encourage others with the capacity to contribute to do the same.”

The initiative underscores a broader trend across the Nordic defence ecosystem: industry actors are increasingly combining commercial capability with strategic responsibility, delivering not only systems, but also direct operational support where it matters most.
