The Mid-Norwegian industrial alliance IPAC Industrial Parts Alliance Cluster has joined NORDSEC Nordic Defence and Security Cluster, aiming to strengthen networks, relationships and collaboration opportunities across the defence and industrial sectors.

IPAC is a joint venture established by six manufacturing companies in the Innherred region of Central Norway: Induform, CNC Produkter, MSP, Leksvik Industrimekanikk, Industriverktøy and PTM Industrier. Together, the companies represent a broad industrial environment with expertise in advanced machining, turning, milling, prototyping, serial production, assembly, engineering and surface treatment.

The alliance combines around 135 employees, including apprentices, and approximately 70 machines, of which 12 are automated robotic systems. Through the collaboration, IPAC offers coordinated production capacity across the entire value chain, from concept development and engineering to finished and treated components.

According to the alliance, the collaboration has already resulted in several successful cross-company projects, demonstrating the benefits of shared capacity and coordinated industrial resources.

Seeking stronger industrial networks

IPAC says joining the cluster is part of a broader strategy to build relationships and strengthen its position in relevant industrial and defence-related value chains.

– We are looking for networks and relationships, says Roald Stene.

Stene describes IPAC as a collaboration designed to make Mid-Norwegian manufacturing companies capable of handling larger and more complex industrial deliveries together.

– IPAC is a collaboration between six industrial companies in Mid-Norway. Together, we have the capacity, expertise, and machinery to take on larger and more complex projects, he says.

Focus on collaboration and experience sharing

The alliance states that it wants to contribute actively to the cluster community through experience sharing and industrial cooperation.

IPAC operates with a clear dual-use philosophy, where technologies and production capabilities can support both civilian and defence-related applications. The companies target sectors including energy, maritime industries, automation, industrial manufacturing, and oil and gas, while also positioning themselves towards emerging needs within defence supply chains and resilient industrial production.

The initiative was developed over a two-year period led by Induform CEO Jonas Sivertsen together with business developer Vegard Voll and advisory company Admento. IPAC is also currently applying for business network support from Innovation Norway.

Roald Stene has been engaged as network manager for the alliance. He brings extensive experience from industry, leadership and business development, and is well known in the region from his previous role leading Elman.
