NORDSEC welcomes Halodyne AS, an Oslo-based defence technology startup developing autonomous and remotely operated counter-UAS systems for the protection of people, vehicles, installations and critical areas.
Founded in July 2025, Halodyne develops, manufactures and commercialises autonomous and remotely operated systems for surveillance, protection and security. Its main focus is counter-UAS technology, with solutions designed to detect, track and counter drone threats while reducing the burden on operators.
The company’s flagship system, HALO-1, is an autonomous and mobile close-range counter-UAS platform. It combines detection and effect in a single system and is designed to operate independently of fixed infrastructure. The platform can be integrated onto unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and other mobile platforms, enabling it to accompany forces and adapt to different operational scenarios.
Halodyne was among the companies taking part in the NORDSEC EUDIS Defence Hackathon in Trondheim, where it demonstrated its autonomous C-UAS capabilities. The company has also opened for sales of units for testing and integration on UGVs and other vehicles, targeting customers who want to gain early experience with mobile C-UAS systems and contribute to bringing the technology into operational use.

International cooperation is also becoming an important part of Halodyne’s development. The company has been selected as one of two Norwegian companies eligible to apply to Unite Brave NATO, a cooperation initiative between Brave1 and NATO. Halodyne’s challenge is Active protection against FPV drones, directly aligned with the company’s core technology focus. Being selected means that Halodyne is eligible to apply; it does not represent a NATO or Brave1 funding award.
Beyond technology development, Halodyne is actively working to strengthen cooperation across Norway’s defence technology ecosystem. The company is a co-host of the monthly Ukraine Norway Tech Meetup at Startuplab in Oslo, an initiative originally established by Halodyne and Vordh and later joined by NUCC, Startuplab and Kjeller Innovasjon.
The meetup provides a low-threshold arena for startups, investors, the Norwegian Armed Forces, police and other stakeholders to share information, experiences and opportunities related to Ukraine and defence technology. An important objective is to strengthen information sharing between Norwegian startups and help companies collaborate on opportunities and challenges.
Through its NORDSEC membership, Halodyne aims to expand its network, participate in relevant events and strengthen its visibility in the Nordic defence and security industry. The company also intends to contribute actively to the cluster through workshops, collaboration and the sharing of information and solutions.
