Hurum Plastindustri is a Norwegian supplier of advanced plastic and composite solutions, with strong expertise in buoyancy systems, thermoplastics, thermoset materials and precision machining. Established in 1972, Hurum Plastindustri has built long-standing experience in the development and production of technical plastic solutions for offshore, maritime and industrial applications. A significant part of its activity is dedicated to buoyancy products used in subsea environments, where controlled flotation and material reliability are essential for safe and efficient operations.

The company operates several production sites in Norway, including a dedicated facility in Trøndelag. This unit supports regional industry with machining capacity, composite production and thermoplastic processing, and is equipped for advanced CNC machining and customised manufacturing solutions.
In early 2026, Hurum Plastindustri became part of the Vipo Group following the acquisition of the company by Vipo AS. The acquisition strengthens the group's position within composite materials and industrial manufacturing, while providing Hurum Plastindustri with additional resources for future growth and development. As part of the group, the company will continue its operations while further strengthening its specialisation in rubber and elastomer-based solutions.
Hurum Plastindustri delivers a broad range of services across the value chain, from design and production of composite structures and buoyancy elements to machining, coating and maintenance of industrial components. The company also provides solutions for rehabilitation and refurbishment of tanks and technical installations, extending the lifespan of critical infrastructure.

The company is also now joining the NORDSEC Defence and Security Cluster, expanding its engagement into the Nordic defence and security ecosystem.
Production Manager Terje Skogheim highlights the importance of combining material expertise with practical manufacturing capability.
