We are pleased to announce that Gjermund Eide, Senior Adviser at Kruse Larsen and former Military Adviser to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, will be among the keynote speakers at Forsvarskonferansen - Nordic Defence and  Security Conference 2026.

Eide will contribute to the conference session “NATO and the Nordics – a military perspective”, bringing insights from more than four decades of service in the Norwegian Armed Forces and international security cooperation.

From 2014 to 2024, Eide served as Military Adviser to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, providing strategic advice during a period marked by increasing geopolitical tensions, Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and significant changes in NATO’s posture and capabilities.

His extensive military and governmental experience also includes roles as Head of Communications for the Norwegian Armed Forces and the Chief of Defence, Contingent Commander of Norwegian forces in Afghanistan, and Military Adviser to the Norwegian Minister of Defence.

Today, Eide is a Senior Adviser at Kruse Larsen, where he advises clients on international relations, security, and defence policy. He holds a Master’s degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College in Washington, D.C.

At Forsvarskonferansen Nordic Defence and Security Conference 2026, participants will have the opportunity to hear Eide’s perspectives on the evolving security landscape, the role of NATO in Northern Europe, and the growing importance of Nordic cooperation in strengthening regional and allied defence capabilities.

The conference takes place at Scandic Hell in Stjørdal on 22–23 September 2026 and brings together decision-makers, industry leaders, military representatives, and policymakers from across the Nordic defence and security ecosystem.
